Schaler commissioned landscape
This painting was commissioned by Michael and Sheila Schaler soon after COVID restrictions and stay-at-home orders were in place.
They asked me if I would be interested in painting a favorite view from their Steamboat Springs home. I visited their home and explored different angles of their “view”.
We were all enchanted by the red tractor in the field and the tumble down barn. Michael gave me some photos taken many years ago when this barn was still whole and standing.
Michael also shared with me a great photo he had taken when some clouds were moving through, creating some interesting views of the mountains behind.
From there I began to lay out this project and painted 4-5 practice watercolors to try and find a final direction.
Painting was commissioned and not for sale.
