Ray Heid is a fourth generation local legend and now he is sharing his stories of growing up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado in his new book, Ray Heid-Man Behind the Duster. I have been inspired to illustrate Ray more than once.

He is featured in his infamous duster on my Courier de Bois painting, while he is participating in the “Toughest ski race in America”.
